Complaint Details
I joined Vedantu for online classes under an EMI plan, with a total course fee of around Rs 65,000 to 70,000 payable over 2 years. The classes were fine for the first 6-7 days, but after that I started facing health issues and was unable to adjust to the class timetable, attend classes regularly, or complete revisions properly. I informed Vedantu about this in the beginning itself and asked about cancelling the course and getting this resolved, but there is no cancellation or refund policy, and my request has been kept pending by their team for the past 3 months. I submitted all the documents that Vedantu asked for, but I did not get any response after that. When I raised the issue again and asked about my rights as a consumer but senior officials refused to my concern. Regarding the EMI payment, my father deposited the money in my account on September 5th evening, but since the next day was a Sunday holiday, Vedantu charged a penalty, increasing my payment from Rs 3,900 to around Rs 4,000 plus extra charges of about Rs 800, without properly explaining the reason. My assigned academic mentor has also not been responding and her phone has been switched off for the past 5 days. My next EMI installment is due on October 5th, and I am currently unable to pay it due to financial and health difficulties. I am not asking for a refund of money already paid, but I request that my further EMI installments be stopped and that Vedantu respond properly to my complaint and resolve this matter instead of ignoring it.
