Complaint Details
I am filing this complaint against Ola Electric for unfair warranty denial and poor customer service regarding my Ola S1 Air scooter. The motor stopped working at 39,871 km, within the promised warranty of 3 years or 40,000 km. I had already reported the motor issue to the service centre before crossing 40,000 km, but the staff refused to inspect or accept my scooter, saying that too many vehicles were pending for servicing and asked me to bring it after 15 days. Due to their delay, the kilometre reading crossed 40,000 km. Now, the service centre is demanding approximately ₹38,000 for motor repair/replacement and has allegedly increased the kilometre reading to show that the warranty has expired. Furthermore, within just 16 months of purchase, my scooter's battery became faulty, and despite the promised 8-year battery warranty, I was charged ₹10,000 under the excuse of deep discharge. I strongly believe this is an unfair trade practice and deficiency in service. I request the Consumer Commission to investigate the matter, verify the original kilometre records and my initial complaint date, provide motor repair/replacement free of cost under warranty, refund the ₹10,000 battery charges, and take appropriate action against Ola Electric for denying legitimate warranty benefits and causing financial loss and mental harassment to a customer.
